Dedicated to helping Bishop Union High School
achieve academic excellence, the Foundation For Excellence has recently been working with school administrators to further
"state of the art" education, through the purchase and installation of a number of "electronic classrooms."
These multimedia computer based systems provide teachers with innovative flexibility for the delivery of their lessons. In
addition to the electronic classrooms, the Foundation is funding an additional computer lab. Currently the Foundation is funding
a new "Technology Center" in the school library. Previously, the Foundation has paid for major refurbishing of the
school library, purchased new band uniforms, purchased computers, and financed a number of supplemental educational programs
and tools to enhance learning opportunites.
Foundation for Excellence at Bishop Union High School was formed in 1985 by a group of local business people who shared a frustration
over the inadequacy of state funding and its effects on quality education in our local high school district. The corporation
is conducted as a non-profit corporation. Since its beginning, the focus of the Foundation has been to promote, encourage
and support the educational programs of the Bishop Joint Union High School District.
