The Fundamentals
of the Evening
Your evening begins at 4 pm with a reception providing flavors created by Chef Kobayashi
of Artisan in Paso Robles then you'll head out on a ranch tour led by the host rancher to see the fields and learn about the
ranch's history, operations and sustainability. During your tour you will sample wine, beer and taste unique appetizers created
from the local land. Your tour concludes in the dining area where tables are dressed in white linen and candlelight. The
Celebrity Chef will present a delectable meal with produce grown from the Eastern Sierra gardens. Thank you for
supporting the continued advancement of students at Bishop Union High School through the Foundation for Excellence.
Dinners conclude at approximately 8:00 pm. Dinner is $175 per person and includes all food, wine, non-alcoholic
beverages and gratuity.
The Necessities of Ranch Dining Attire
Dinner will be
held rain or shine. Please bring or wear the appropriate layers. Additionally, the ranch tour terrain will be uneven,
dusty and muddy so please wear sturdy comfortable shoes. High-heels, no matter how comfortable, will result in a sinking experience.
Sunscreen, parasols, sweaters and sunglasses are all appropriate accoutrements. Attendance
limited to those over the age of 21.
Chris Kobayashi, Executive Chef/OwnerThis unique and sure-to-be-exquisite Savour the Sierra dinner will
be created by Celebrity Chef Chris Kobayashi of award winning Artisan restaurant in Paso Robles. Chef Kobayashi will use locally grown meats and vegetables in the preparation
of this epicurean feast. Each course will be pairedwith specially selected California central
coast wines to complement the meal. Chef Kobayashi
is a 1990 graduate of Bishop Union High School himself. His brother Michael is a co-owner and the general
manger of Artisan. Kobayashi’s Artisan restaurant is built upon his attention to detail, focus on
locally sourced ingredients, and his fervor for refined cuisine. At Artisan he prepares meals based on
the seasonal availability of local and organic produce. He serves wild caught fish and sustainably farmed
meats. Among his awards and recognition, Chris Kobayashi received a coveted nomination as a semi-finalist
for Best Chef Pacific by the James Beard Foundation Awards in both 2009 and 2011. Among others, Artisan has been featured in the New York Times, San Francisco
Chronicle, Wall Street Journal, Bon Appetit, Sunset, National Geographic Traveler, and Wine Spectator magazines.
Host Location - Talbot Ranch, Round Valley

they strive to produce high quality, wholesome, nutritious beef. Utilizing animal welfare friendly practices
